2010 Season - Week 7
Scoring Hall of Fame
Congratulations to David S and Les Miserables Tueur Abeilles who hung up half a hundred points in week 6 off the back of Kenny Britt’s 3 TD performance. This is the third time Stampy has graced the marble halls last doing so way back in December 2004. Poor old Marcus who, you’ll remember, made the Hall back in week 3 for the first time after 190 attempts. He made the Hall of Fame twice this week but finished up outside looking in on 47 points. How can that happen I hear you ask? In the second quarter of the Vikings Sunday Night game Franchise man Percy Harvin scored a TD on a 13 yard run, unlucky for some, after a Packers challenge he was ruled out at the one. Then with just 57 seconds left and on 1st & 30 at the Packers 35 yard line Favre showed his old Lambeau magic as he hit Harvin for a TD in the back of the endzone. Touchdown! Favre beats Packers in Lambeau, Marcus back in the Hall of Fame, but wait, official revue correctly ruled Harvin only got one foot down, incomplete pass…access denied.
Hall of Fame Players
Thanks the 13 of the 16 owners who voted in our annual poll. All 12 nominee’s received votes but it was disappointing to see in 12th place was former London Monarch QB Brad Johnson with just 9 points. We are the BUMS after all. 5 players were chosen to enter the Hall of Fame as the class of 2010 because we had a tie for forth. They are Isaac Bruce (35 points – 1 first place) and Mike “The A-Train” Alstott (35 points – 2 first place votes), Dallas Cark (37pts – 1 first placec), Reggie Wayne (45pts – 1 first place) and winner Antonio Gates with 48 points and 3 first place votes. We now have elected 40 players into the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame floorplan is attached. Thanks to all who voted.
Injuries and Trading Day 2
Bad news for Ron and Aaron. On Monday Night Ron lost QB Tony Romo for up to 8 weeks with a fractured left clavicle whilst Aaron’s received Dallas Clark has been put on IR by the Colts ending his season. Both will be looking forward to Trading Day 2 on November 14th before the week 10 games. That’s the first time they can make the changes. Diary Note!
BUMS on Seats
We are at Wembley this Sunday to see San Francisco host Denver (rumours the losing coach is not allowed to return to America are unfounded so far). We’ll be at HQ on Monday from 6:30pm to see Pittsburgh @ New Orleans and at Johnnie’s on Tuesday from 6:30pm for a great AFC South clash as Indianapolis host Houston. Call if you’re coming.
So how’s that, I got through the whole newsletter without mentioning Oakland destroying Denver 59-14 in the donkeys own back yard – doh! Nearly.
